JAMAAT e Islami Lahore Ameer Amir-ul-Azeem has said that it is imperative in the current era to understand and benefit from the philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal who taught self reliance and true sovereignty instead of relying on the west.
According to a press statement issued on Sunday, he was addressing a seminar on the topic The Ideology f Iqbal and the Moderns Times. During the seminar, a number of speakers expressed their views on how the teachings and ideology of Iqbal was more relevant in the current times more than any other era. Dr Syed Mansoor Ali, Rao Javed Iqbal, Chaudhry Muhammad Shaukat and others said that only ideology of Iqbal could bring about the desired revolution in Pakistan. The speakers stressed the need to spread principles and character defined in Iqbals poetry among the youth of Pakistan so that they could form a consolidated and sovereign society.
