| Militant killed, 3 hurt in Kurram |

| SADDA: Security forces claimed to have killed a militant and injured three others in Chapri area of Kurram Lower Friday. “One militant was killed and three others injured when security forces opened fire on a vehicle,” tribal and official sources said. Meanwhile, the security forces arrested two suspected persons in a search operation carried out in Ahmadi Shama and Sadda town in the agency. The identity of the suspected militants could not be ascertained. Meanwhile, the political authorities closed down Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan in Kurram Upper for three days due to security reasons. Landmine kills two in Mohmand: Two civilians were killed when a vehicle hit a roadside landmine in Mohmand Lower Agency Saturday. Tribal sources said the pickup van ran over the landmine in Kasai Anbar area, triggering an explosion. As a result, the driver Aziz Khan and Shad Ali, cleaner, were killed on the spot. The mine was apparently planted to target the security forces. Meanwhile, two suspected persons were arrested at a checkpoint in Yakkaghund area. They were identified as Muhammad Saeed and Alat Khan, residents of Dawezai. |
