Three militants killed in Bajaur

KHAR: Three militants were killed and another was arrested in an injured condition when security forces pounded positions of militants with artillery in Mamond tehsil, Bajaur Agency, on Saturday, official sources said. Also, eight militants including a commander and his son surrendered to the security forces in Khar and Mamond subdivisions. Official sources said that the security forces targetted suspected hideouts of militants in different areas of Mamond tehsil with artillery guns. As a result, three militants were killed while another sustained injuries. He was later arrested by security forces, the sources said, adding, several hideouts were also destroyed in the shelling. Eight militants including a commander and his son, whose names were not disclosed, renounced militancy and surrendered to the security forces in Khar and Mamond tehsils.
