| Full court reference for 12 judges |

| LAHORE A FULL court reference of the Lahore High Court Friday paid tributes to the departed souls of 12 former LHC judges who died during the previous years. Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif chaired the full court reference which was attended by all the judges and lawyers’ representatives, advocate general Punjab Hanif Khatana, vice chairman Punjab Bar Council Asif Malik, vice president Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Wahid Akhtar, president LHCBA Justice (r) Mrs Nasira Javed Iqbal and senior Bar members. They paid homage to the souls of Justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal, Justice Ghulam Mujaddid Mirza, Justice Saad Saud Jan, Justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal, Justice Ch Muhammad Siddiq, Justice SM Zubair, Gulbaz Khan, Justice CA Rehman, Justice Zafar Pasha Ch, Justice Tanvir Bashir Ansari, Justice Ch Muhammad Sharif, Justice Sheikh Abdul Wahid and Justice Mazharul Haq. The Chief Justice, paying homage to the former judges, said they all served the judiciary up to their best abilities and they administered justice, not just law. He termed their death loss of great champions of human rights and fearless fighters against all that was illegal and oppressive who contributed a lot to the rule of law and supremacy of the constitution, which could not be forgotten. The Chief Justice cited the popular decisions and termed them a source of inspiration for him and source of guidance for lawyers and the judges. He said these judges set examples in dispensation of justice because of which their names would remain forever in the books of law and in the hearts of the justice-loving people. In the end, the participants offered Fateha for the departed souls and prayed Allah Almighty may grant eternal peace to the bereaved families. |
