11 drug pushers held

LAHORE

Satukatla police claimed to have arrested 11 drugs pushing and seized drugs and a huge quantity of illicit weapons from their custody during a special crackdown launched on criminals. The arrested accused included Abdul Wahab, Riaz, Murad alias Tind, Karamat Ali alias Judge, Ali Sher and Abid. Cases have been registered against them. Operations SSP Ch Shafiq Ahmad has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team.



Full court reference for judges

LAHORE

ALL the judges of Lahore High Court will hold a full court reference on Friday (today) presided over by chief justice Khawaja Mohammad Shareef to pay homage to the departed souls of nine former LHC judges who passed away during the last year. The reference to be held in the court room of Chief Justice will be attended by senior bar members also. The names of the judges for whom the reference is being held are Justice Saad Saud Jan, Justice Ghulam Mujadad Mirza, Justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal, Justice C A Rehman, Justice S M Zubari, Justice Tanvir Bashir Ansari, Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Sharif, Justice Zafar Pasha Chaudhry and Justice Mazhar-ul-Haq.



People get respite from outages

There was no load shedding across the country since 10am onwards on Thursday as the shortfall between demand and supply reduced to 890MW. The overall demand of the country stands at 10195MW and the total generation is 9305MW. Furnaces and power looms are facing only 4-hour loadshedding due to the shortfall.
