‘Long March’ arrives in Hyderabad amid show of solidarity

HYDERABAD: Participants of a the Awami Tehreek’s long march arrived here on Wednesday and a large number of people attended the rally which passed through various streets of the city.

The march had started from Kandhkot on Oct 8 and reached the outskirts of Hyderabad late on Tuesday night and entered the city on Wednesday afternoon. The rally was joined by leaders of various political parties outside the Hyderabad Press Club. Those who spoke outside the press club included AT chief Rasool Bux Palijo, his son and AT leader Ayaz Latif Palijo, Asadullah Bhutto of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Hyder Shani of the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party, Dodo Mehri of the Sindh United Party and Niaz Kalani of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz.

The participants included women who were also carrying banners, placards and party flags. They also raised slogans against the government.The long march was organised against the lawlessness in Sindh, unjustified share for Sindh in the NFC award, water shortage and other injustices with the people of Sindh. The participants would leave here on Thursday morning the march would culminate in Karachi on Nov 22 where leaders of national and regional parties are expected to attend it.
