Nine cops to face legal action

INSPECTOR General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar, taking serious notice of the public complaints, has ordered strict legal and disciplinary action against nine police officials on the charges of corruption and misuse of power.

He issued these orders on the applications of several citizens arrived in the open court on Wednesday.

A citizen from Lahore Muhammad Asif alleged that SHO, PS Factory Area, Inspector Abdullah Pasha and Sub Inspector Ghulam Mustafa involved him in a false case and later released him after receiving bribe.

The IG ordered SP Cantt. to probe the matter and take strict legal/disciplinary action against the said police officials if the charges were true. A citizen from Sahiwal Muhammad Ishaque alleged that Incharge Investigation, PS Dera Rahim, Sub Inspector Muhammad Ishaque was not arresting the accused nominated in his case despite receiving bribe from him.

The IG ordered DPO Sahiwal to constitute a special team for the apprehension of accused besides taking strict disciplinary action against the said official if charges were true.

A citizen from Muzaffargarh Zafar Iqbal alleged that Incharge Investigation, PS Diara Din Panah, Sub Inspector Allah Ditta was not arresting the accused nominated in his case despite receiving gratification from him.

The IG ordered DPO Muzaffargarh to constitute a special team for arresting the accused besides taking strict disciplinary action against the said official if charges proved in inquiry. Sher Ali alleged that ASI Muhammad Afzal of PS B-Division, Sheikhupura, was demanding gratification from him for registration of a case.

The IG ordered DPO Sheikhupura to probe the matter and register a case against the said official if charges were proved.

Likewise, a citizen from Lahore Muhammad Ashfaq alleged that ASI Amanat of PS Misri Shah, in connivance with his opponents, entered his house forcibly and pressurized him for withdrawal of a case.

The IG ordered SSP Discipline to probe the matter and take strict legal/disciplinary action against the said official if charges were proved. Nadim Baajwa alleged that ASI Muhammad Rustam and Constable Noman Shah of PS Badami Bagh were harassing him and demanding gratification.

The IG directed CCPO for taking strict legal action against the said officials after conducting inquiry in this regard.

A citizen from Sargodha Hayat Khan said that a case had been registered in Anti-Corruption Department against ASI Muhammad Yar of PS Mid Ranjha on his complaint.

Now the said official in connivance with the local police was forcing him to stop the following the case while the police were not arresting him. The IG ordered DPO Sargodha to constitute a special team for immediate arrest of the said official.
