Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has asked all political parties to create consensus on saying ‘no’ to US policies, as they did on the issue of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

This was stated by JI Punjab Naib Ameer Mian Muhammad Aslam while addressing a press conference on Jamaat’s ‘Go America Go’ movement here on Tuesday.

The JI leader said that implementation of a 14-point resolution passed by the parliament against drone attacks and finding ways for negotiations with stakeholders instead of option of operation, could play an important role for creating consensus against US policies.

Mian Aslam said that the second phase of JI movement would start on Wednesday (today) with ‘Karwans’ from different districts. JI Ameer Syed Munawwar Hassan would lead the ‘Go America Go’ rally from Sargodha to Mianwali, while Mian Aslam would lead another rally from Bhakkar to Mianwali.

The JI leader told journalists that the Jamaat’s programme of anti-American movement for the next three months has been finalised and circulars have been issued to JI headquarters at district and tehsil levels. It has been decided to extend the movement to the tehsil level where public opinion would be mobilised against the US.

Mian Aslam warned that after suffering defeat in Afghanistan, the United States wanted to choose Pakistan as their next battlefield. “We have already said that interference of the US in internal affairs of Pakistan is root cause of all evils,” he said.
