| PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) will observe Black Day today (Tuesday) to express indignation over the extra-constitutional acts of military dictator General (R) Musharraf on November 3, 2007 when he imposed emergency in the country. A general body meeting of the association would be held at the bar room and black flags would be hoisted at the premises of the Peshawar High Court. However, there will be no boycott of the court proceedings. The Peshawar District Bar Association will also observe black day. The lawyers at the district courts will boycott the court proceedings after 11:00am to attend the joint meeting of the PHCBA and district bar at the bar room of the PHC. Musharraf declared emergency in his capacity as the chief of army staff to protect his unconstitutional rule. Over 60 judges of the superior courts including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry were rendered non-functional under emergency rule. |
