Sindh Chief Secretary, Fazal-ur-Rehman stressed the need to facilitate the consumers to buy commodities at reasonable prices, fixed by the price control committees in each district of the province, here on Sunday. He maintained that being the controller of prices in the district, the DCOs should adequately evolve a strategy, under which no one could loot innocent buyers, not only in shops and markets, but also in weekly bazaars. He directed the DCOs to ensure the provision of sugar to consumers with a reasonable price by taking action against hoarders and profiteers in accord with rules and regulations. He also advised the Department of Supply and Prices to increase monitoring and vigilance and asked the Home Department and Sindh Police to extend cooperation in this regard.
