The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) claimed on Monday to have arrested five members of a group of dacoits from Baloch Colony.The accused were identified as Asif Mahmood alias Billa, Kamran Khurshid alias Kaka, Shehzad Tanoli, Naimul Hasan, and Sajid Hussain alias Ali.
The police said that three handguns and two revolvers with rounds were recovered. The accused were involved in robberies in Karachi and Sukkur, as well as in Punjab. According to the AVCC, Asif alias Billa is the gang leader and had been arrested several times in the past. He was absconding after getting bail.
A woman was crushed to death in a road accident in the limit of the Kalri police station. The woman’s body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi. The local police, however, said that they had no information regarding the incident.
