A mob torched a passenger bus on Monday morning in Korangi after a young man was killed in a road accident, the police and rescuers said.
The accident took place at the Nasir Colony jump in the jurisdiction of Zaman Town police station, when a passenger bus of route 1-D and Abdullah Coach were trying to overtake each other. The 1-D bus hit a 22-year-old man who was travelling on the footboard of the coach. The man died on the spot.
The police said that the identity of the victim could not be ascertained. His body was shifted to the Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth, after legal formalities at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
Following the incident, angry people gathered on the spot and attacked the 1-D bus. Child drowns in water tank: A seven-year-old boy, Naveed drowned in a water tank in his house in Sector 32, in the jurisdiction of the Korangi police station.
