The election of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) 2009-10 will be held in Sindh on October 28 at the Sindh Bar Council in Karachi and Sukkur.
According to a list issued by returning officer, Barrister Baacha and Qazi M Anwar were contesting for the post of SCBA President. Malik Manzoor Hussain, Rooh-ul-Amin Chamkani and Wali Khan Afridi from the NWFP, Mian M Waheed Akhtar, M Akmal Salimi, M Iftikhar Shah from Punjab and Ainuddin Khan and K.A Wahab from Sindh have filed papers for the post of Vice President from their respective provinces.
Qamar Zaman Qureshi, Raja Zulqarnain and Syed Jamil Ahmed were contesting for the slot of Secretary while Ahsanuddin has been elected unopposed as additional secretary. Mehmood Ahmed Sheikh, Syed Rifaqat Hussain Shah and Zaheed Ahmed Qadri were contesting for finance secretary.
Advocates including Abdul Wajid Wyne, Ghulam Shabbir Shar, Haji Shafi M Chandio, Izahar Alam Faruqi, Shamsuddin Khalid Ahmed Ansari, Zia Ahmed Awan and Zia-ul-Haq Makhdoom were contesting for the executive committee from Sindh.
