LAHORE: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that all apprehensions regarding the Kerry-Lugar Law have been removed through an open house debate, saying the government will never compromise on national solidarity.

He stated this while addressing the PPP MPAs at the Governor’s House here on Saturday. Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer, Federal Minister Syed Khurshid Shah, Punjab Senior Minister Raja Riaz and others were also present.

Addressing the party MPAs, Qureshi said the amount provided through the KLL would not be a loan but aid.

He said all the reservations shown from various circles had been removed after his visit to the US where all stakeholders were taken into confidence.

Governor Salmaan Taseer, in his address, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had portrayed a positive image of Pakistan by countering the negative propaganda by strong arguments and lobbying on the international front.

Terming the foreign policy a victory of the PPP government, Taseer said the world powers were supporting Pakistan’s viewpoint and providing financial assistance to it.

He said the PPP government had taken all possible measures for improving the lot of the working class. He said the PPP government could not ignore low income groups of the society.
