Baloch ministers want bullet-proof cars

QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly on Friday unanimously adopted a resolution demanding of the federal government the necessary permission for import of the duty-free bullet proof vehicles for the provincial ministers and the members of the assembly.

The resolution was moved by Provincial Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, Mir Zafarullah Zehri, who pointed out towards the prevailing law and order situation in the province and that of the country. He demanded that the permission be granted for importing the bullet proof vehicles for the provincial ministers and the MPAs and exempting the duty and taxes on them in view of the suicide and remote control bomb attacks.

The resolution that was supported by the house unanimously demanded of the federal government to ensure the duty free bullet proof vehicles without any delay. The house also adopted the resolutions tabled by MPA Mir Zahoor Hussain Khosa regarding waiving off the agricultural loans of the farmers/growers of the province, besides the provision of the natural gas to the areas passing nearby of Jaffarabad and Naseerabad.

Similarly, the resolution tabled by Provincial Ministers Ainullah Shams, Muhammad Nawaz and Zahoor Ahmed Buledi regarding implementation on the project of two-way Kuchlak-Yaro Road was also adopted. It demanded of the government to ensure completion of the project by December 2009.

Moreover, another resolution tabled by the Senior Provincial Minister Planning and Development Maulana Abdul Wasey and Ainullah Shams was also adopted. It demanded the gas supply to the Aghbarg area of Quetta. The house approved the Balochistan Sports Board draft bill. Later, the assembly session was adjourned sine die ahead of its schedule, as it was to be continued till October 26.
