ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) breakaway faction, the PML (likeminded group), has decided to apply for separate seat arrangements in both the houses of parliament.

Out of 51 MNAs, nine are part of the like-minded group in the National Assembly and six legislators are its supporters in the Senate. The like-minded group has already named its parliamentary leaders in all the four provincial assemblies, as it has as many as 51 lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly, six each in Balochistan and Sindh Assemblies and three in the NWFP Assembly. The PML-Q got split a few months back, but the party affiliations on the National Assembly and Senate websites remained unchanged.

However, the like-minded group is eager for changes in the parliamentary record accordingly. The like-minded faction was to hold a meeting (today) Saturday here to discuss its future line of action in parliament vis-a-vis the Kerry-Lugar Law and other key national matters and when to apply for separate seats and notification of its parliamentary leaders in the National Assembly as well as in the Senate.
