Three held as search operation continues in Swat

MINGORA: Security forces continued search operation and joint patrolling with police in Swat Valley on Tuesday. Eight militants voluntarily surrendered to security forces in Bar Shawar, Chuprial, Dewlai and Shadhand Banda. After suffering a crippling blow during the recent military operation, the militants have started surrendering to the security forces. They are, however, ordinary fighters or those who helped the militants. Some of the key militant commanders including the chief of Swat Taliban, Maulana Fazlullah, are yet to be arrested or killed. The security forces conducted search operation in Salhand and Dewlai and apprehended three suspects.

PESHAWAR: Police recovered a man kidnapped from a mosque while observing Aitkaf in Attock district last month and arrested three alleged kidnappers on Tuesday. Kidnappers later demanded Rs10 million for release of Abdul Mannan. On a tip-off, police raided some hideouts in Peshawar and recovered Mannan safe and sound. Three alleged kidnappers, including a woman, were arrested.
