| Dealers not getting sugar from mills |

| LAHORE: Most of the registered sugar dealers are not getting sugar from the mills as it is being distributed through few bigwigs. The News has learnt that the Punjab government registered over 1,100 dealers in the province for sugar trade to implement the Supreme Court orders. Though the government successfully registered the sugar dealers, but it has failed to ensure sugar supply to all the dealers. According to data, so far, 1131 dealers were registered in the province out of which 126 in Lahore division, 156 in Gujranwala division, 201 in Rawalpindi division, 86 in Faisalabad division, 160 in Sargodha division, 97 in D G Khan division, 180 in Multan division and 125 in Bahawalpur division. In every division some 50 to 60 small dealers were registered in newly registration prices. In every district of the province, sugar has been supplied through three to five big dealers network while the new small dealers are not getting sugar from mills. |
