Health Directorate of CDA has chalked out an action plan to control malaria and Dengue fever in monsoon season in the federal capital.
The chances of malaria, Dengue fever and other water borne diseases increase manifold in this season, and CDA has planned to spray and fog the different sectors, nullahs and katchi abadis in different phases to curb the diseases.
According to the Health Directorate, its anti-malaria section already launched a comprehensive spray and fogging campaign on August 1 under the supervision of an entomologist.
The anti-malaria staff has been arranged in the morning and evening shifts to complete the whole campaign in three phases. Under the campaign, water sampling and breeding will be collected by insect collectors from all nullahs for identification of the species.
Moreover, blood sampling will be collected and Chloroguine tablets are being distributed among the residents of katchi abadis, besides the distribution of pamphlets regarding precautionary measures of the said diseases among the people.
During the campaign, areas of the federal capital to be sprayed and fogged to kill vectors/disease are as follows:
Phase 1: Sectors G-5, G-6, G-7, G-8, G-9, G-10, G-11, E-7, E-11, I-8, I-9, I-10, I-11, F-6, F-7, F-8, F-9, F-10, F-11, H-8, H-9 and H-11; katchi abadis of Faisal Colony G-7/1, 66 Quarters Colony G-7/2, 48 Quarters G-7/3-2, Barri Imam (Muslim Colony), Dhobi Ghat G-6/2, Hansa Colony G-8/2, H-10, Saidpur, I-9/1, I-11/4, France Colony F-7/4, F-6/2 (100 Quarters); and green belts of G-7/1-2, G-6/3-4, G-7/1-3-4, G-6/2, Salik G-8/2, F-6/1-2-3, F-7/3-4, F-7/1-2, Barri Imam, I-9/1-2, I-11/2-4, E-11 (Near Golra Nursery) and H-10 Near Islamic University.
Phase 2: Green belts of F-8/1-2, F-8/3-4, F-9 Fatima Jinnah Park, F-10/1-2, F-10/3-4, F-11/1-2, F-11/3-4, G-11/2-3, H-8/1-2, H-8/3-4, I-8/1, I-8/3-4, M0/1-2, I-10/3-4, G-9/1-2 and G-9/3-4.
Phase 3: Residential Block/Govt Accommodation, CDA Block G-9/2, CDA Block G-l0/3, CDA Quarters G-6, CDA Block G-7/1, CDA Colony I-9 Mosque, Imam Bargah, Church.
