| Zardari doing his best to strengthen democratic system: Qaim |

| LARKANA: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said on Tuesday President Asif Ali Zardari believes in democracy and is trying his best to strengthen the democratic system in the country. He was talking to journalists in Garhi Khuda Bukhsh Bhutto. He said the government is implementing the manifesto of the party which was given by Shaheed Quaid Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Qaim said all-out efforts are being made to make Pakistan stronger. “We are also trying to create a peaceful atmosphere as well as brotherhood and unity among the people of the province,” he said. He said a Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical University will be established and a centre of excellence will also be opened in the university. He hoped it will be a model university of the country, and the construction work will be started soon. Qaim told journalists at the VIP Lounge of the Moenjodaro Airport earlier that effective measures are being taken to control the law and order situation in the province, especially in the Larkana district. He said the purpose of his visit was to finalise the arrangements regarding the 30th death anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to be observed on April 4 in Garhi Khuda Bukhsh Bhutto. Qaim was accompanied to Garhi Khuda Bukhsh by provincial ministers Zulfiqar Mirza, Agha Sirajuddin, and Ayaz Soomro. He offered Fateha at the Mazars of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mir Murtaza Bhutto, and Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto and laid floral wreaths there. He also inspected the development works being carried out in front of the Mazars where Chief Engineer Buildings Muhammad Pannah Jumani briefed the chief minister on the development works. Qaim directed the officers concerned that the development works be completed in time. |
