| LAPD team briefed on Islamabad Police working |

| Islamabad A delegation of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) visited the office of inspector general of police here on Wednesday. A detailed briefing was given to delegates on the policing system in the federal capital, the police spokesman said. The delegation, headed by Laroy D Baca, included three Pakistanis holding American nationality and was accompanied by former IG police (Sindh) and Director General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Azhar Farooqi. IG Police Islamabad Syed Asghar Raza Gardezi, AIG Special Branch Muhammad Naeem Khan, SSP Islamabad Captain (r) Ahmed Latif, AIG (Establishment) Tariq Masood Yasin, SSP Islamabad Traffic Police Zubair Ahmed Hashmi, AIG (Finance) Heleena Iqbal, SSP (CID) Dr Moeen Masood, SP (Headquarters) Mir Waiz Niaz and DIG Capital Security Police Inayat Ullah Farooq were present during the meeting with the delegation. SSP (Operation) Captain (r) Ahmad Latif briefed the delegation about the functioning of the police stations of the metropolis as well as the area division and strength of police, and the population of Islamabad. Efforts of Islamabad police to counter crime with combating terrorism and law and order situation in such critical conditions and police performance against the criminals also came under discussion along with the challenges being confronted by the capital police and its successes. Various welfare plans of ITP for its employees, and its vision and responsibilities were also shared with the visiting delegates who appreciated the welfare programme initiated by the ITP administration for its officials. The delegation also praised the traffic arrangements in Islamabad to keep the city’s traffic in flow. Both the sides agreed to continue such visits in future that would help in sharing the experiences and understanding the policing system of both the countries. |
