TIMERGARA: The police in Jandool area of Lower Dir district have expressed dissatisfaction over security arrangements by a total of 314 public and private sector schools and registered cases against eight schools for inadequate security measures.

Talking to journalists at his office, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jandool Amjad Khan said that on the special directives of District Police Officer Qasim Ali Khan, they visited schools situated in the limits of Samarbagh, Mayar and Munda police stations.

He said security arrangements of 20 schools in the jurisdiction of Mayar Police Station were insufficient and they had been warned to adopt strict security measures while cases were lodged against owners of two schools for poor security measures.

Out of 117 schools in the limits of Samarbagh Police Station, the security of only five schools was found satisfactory, he said. He added that the rest were issued advisory notices for taking strict security measures, besides registering cases against five schools for poor security measures.

The SDPO said they also visited schools in the jurisdiction of Munda Police Station and found the security arrangements of only one school out of a total of 112 schools to be satisfactory while the rest were issued advisory notices for inappropriate security measures besides registration of FIR against the management of one school for extremely poor security.

Amjad Khan expressed his determination to ensure foolproof security of all public and private sector schools in Jandool.
