The Pakistan People’s Party chairman has condemned an attack on a workers’ convention in Nakial, Kotli district in Azad Jammu and Kashmir by “Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz goons” in which a party activist was killed and others were wounded.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took notice of the fact that some PML-N federal ministers were “using foul language” and seen “instigating violence” against PPP workers and supporters in AJK.

Bilawal said the PML-N had adopted dictatorial tactics and let loose its armed goons to attack political gatherings of the PPP ahead of the AJK elections.

He warned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to restrain his ministers from instigating violence and use of weapons against opponents otherwise he would be held responsible for the consequences.

Bilawal further said that those who had killed and injured PPP workers in Nakial would not be allowed to go scot-free and all legal means would be used to bring them to justice.

The PPP chairman expressed his sympathies with the families of those killed and injured in the attack.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah too condemned the killing of an activist and injuring of others in firing in Nakial.

According to a handout, Shah, who is also the president of PPP Sindh chapter, said it seemed that the PML-N was upset after foreseeing its defeat in the upcoming AJK elections and had attacked a peaceful rally.
