LAHORE
Punjab Food Authority continued its drive against adulterated edibles and poor hygiene standards at food outlets and processing units on Thursday.
A PFA team raided Irfan Kiryana Store in Akbari Mandi and sealed it over the recovery of 4,000-kg adulterated red chilies and other spices. The team also sealed Geo Butt Sweets for using banned food colours in its products and samples were sent to a laboratory for a test.
A Samanabad Town team imposed a heavy fine on Hafiz Sweets and Bao Ge Murgh Chanye for various violations. A Data Town team imposed a heavy fine on Chiniot Catering and Galaxy Marriage Hall for different violations. PFA teams of Aziz Bhatti Town, Gulberg Town, Allama Iqbal Town and Nishtar Tow imposed fines on Qasim Foods, Gracious Events, Mandrine Restaurant, King and Queen Restaurant, Lahori Chatkhara and Zahid Food for food laws violations.
