Two die in accidents

PAKPATTAN: Two people were killed in road accidents on Monday.

Police constables Sadat Ali Khan and Mohsin Ali Gujjar were riding a motorcycle on the Multan Road, when near Chak Shafi a speeding van hit them, leaving Sadat dead on the spot and Mohsin wounded.  Sher Muhammad, 30, of Chak 75/EB was bringing his two daughters from school on his motorcycle when near Qaboola Bypass a speeding car hit them, leaving Sher dead on the spot.

KIDNAPPING ATTEMPT: An abduction bid was foiled here on Monday.

Irshad and his accomplices forcibly entered the house of Muhammad Pervez of Kallay Pathan area and tried to kidnap his wife. When inmates Asghar Javed and Muhammad Afzal interfered, they were tortured and injured. Accused Zafar entered the house of Muhammad Muneer of Chak 24/EB and tried to kidnap his 14-year-old daughter.

FAKE CHEQUE CASES: Police registered two cases against the accused on charges of issuing fake cheques. Police registered a fake cheque case in connection with a loan issue between Allah Yar and Mushtaq Aamar Khan. Muhammad Iqbal had taken Rs 50,000 loan from Nawaz of Adha Ahmad Yar and gave him a cheque that bounced. Police registered two aces.

 

VALUABLES STOLEN: Thieves took away valuables in several incidents on Monday.

Thieves entered shop of Riaz of Shaheedi Bazaar and stole cash, and other valuables. Khursheed parked his milk tanker at Chowk Kumarwala and entered a hotel, when he came back he found his chiller machine missing. Thieves stole government trees worth Rs 30,000 at Chak 31/KB.

POS ESCAPE: Two proclaimed offenders (POs) escaped police on Monday.

On a tip-off, police raided Chak 26/KB to arrest PO Usman alias Shani but he was alerted by his harbour Iqbal and escaped.

In the second incident, police raided Chak 26/KB to arrest PO Arif but he also escaped with the connivance of Asghar. Police have registered cases.

DRUG PEDDLERS HELD: Police Monday arrested drug peddlers and recovered drugs and weapons from their possession.

Police arrested Ahmad of Pir Kot with 250 gram chars, Nadeem of Chak 95/D with a shot gun and Ijaz Ahmad with a pistol.
