LAHORE
A special session of Pakistan Visionary Forum’s Kashmir Committee was held at TECH Society Club in which the Kashmir issue was discussed.
Former Minister of State Qayyum Nizami, former DG Intelligence Bureau Maj. (retd) Shabbir Ahmed, agricultural scientist Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, Zubair Sheikh and Jameel Gishkori expressed their views on the occasion.
Addressing the audience, the speakers said, "We should demand immediate peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations failing which dreams of development and peace in the region, particularly in Pakistan and India, would not come true. People of both countries are deprived of basic amenities of life due to poverty and scarcity of resources, they added.
As a result of heightened tension between the two countries owing to the unresolved Kashmir issue a large amount is spent on the defence budgets which should be available to provide basic amenities. They showed deep concern over human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. Brutal use of force against innocent Kashmiries by the occupied Indian forces should stop forthwith and recovery of thousands of Kashmiris should be ensured. It was emphasised that both Indian and Pakistani leadership should sit together to resolve their pending issues but the Kashmir issue should be placed on top of the agenda.
