Kashmir Solidarity Day observed in KP, Fata

PESHAWAR: Several rallies were held and functions arranged in the provincial capital, other parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) on Friday to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Jamaat-ud- Dawa and Al-Badr Mujahideen activists staged a rally outside the Peshawar Press Club. Speakers on the occasion demanded international community to resolve the Kashmir issue. They chanted slogans and said Kashmir would become part of Pakistan someday.

Several other groups who staged rallies include Jamaat-i-Islami, Peshawar district administration, Mukhtar Students Organisation, Muslim Students Federation and students of various educational institutions.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani also led a rally on the Grand Trunk Road near Government Higher Secondary School No1. The rally had been organized by the district administration. Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar Riaz Mehsood and president of Peshawar Chamber of Commerce Ihtesham Haleem Jan were also participated in the rally. 

BANNU: Activists of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) staged a rally in Bannu to express solidarity with people of Jammu and Kashmir. The demonstrators asked international bodies to give the Kashmiris their right to self-determination.

JAMRUD: Workers of the JUI-F held a rally in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day in Jamrud tehsil of the Khyber Agency. The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the atrocities being committed by Indian army against people of occupied Kashmir.

LANDIKOTAL: The workers and supporters of JI also expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir at a rally in Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency.

They asked the United Nations to break its silence over the brutalities being committed by the Indian Army against the people of Jammu and Kashmir and play its role in resolving the dispute.

KARAK: Activists of the JI staged a rally to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day. The speakers said India had illegally occupied Kashmir and committing violence against unarmed people of the valley.

BUNER: The workers of the JI organised various functions and rallies across the district and expressed solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The speakers flayed the use of force to suppress the movement of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination and vowed to continue moral and political support to the Kashmiri brethren.

LAKKI MARWAT: Separate functions and rallies were held in Ghaznikhel and Lakki city on Friday to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people on the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The speakers urged the United Nations to take notice of the brutalities of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir and asked the world body to implement its previous resolutions on Kashmir.

SHANGLA: The civil society staged a rally in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day and condemned the violation of human rights by the Indian troops there.

BATKHELA: The activists of the JUI-F organised a rally to express solidarity with the Kashmiris and called for a peaceful solution to the conflict.

HARIPUR: A rally was held by the supporters of Jamaat-i-Islami to express unity with the people of Indian occupied Kashmir.

PARACHINAR: The supporters of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) organised a function to express solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

KHAR: Participants of solidarity rally vowed to render every sacrifice for securing the right to self-determination for the people of Kashmir. The JI, Bajaur Agency chapter, had organised the rally held in agency headquarters Khar.

Also, the JI activists took out a rally to commemorate the Kashmir Solidarity Day in Halimzai tehsil of Mohmand Agency. Similarly, various political parties organised rallies to mark the day in Dera Ismail Khan district.
