Sea ports play significant role in the economic growth of a country  The Gwadar Port of Pakistan has a prime geographical location. It is situated at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, the cross junction of international sea shipping and oil trade routes. The Gwadar Port connects three main regions – Central Asia, South Asia and the Middle East. The route from Gwadar to Central Asia is the most economical sea route. These economic opportunities will lead towards a developed Balochistan as well as a developed Pakistan with better infrastructure and jobs for the people of the country.

China has already started trade through the Gwadar Port as the first ship of China reached the Gwadar Port. Every project has a set of problems as well. The project of the Gwadar Port is subjected to various uncertainties. The project is exposed to security threats and the work on the connections of gas, electricity and water is still in progress. The Gwadar Port project is a much needed project and it is expected that in 2017, the port will be open for trade. But for the success of the project the government should solve the above-mentioned problems.
