NFSA holds orientations in the arena of Question documents

National Forensic Science Agency (NFSA), a project under the Ministry of Interior, playing an essential role in criminal investigations and helping the criminal justice system to solve crimes, in collaboration with ICITAP held a one-week Forensic Training Programme in Questioned Documents, a spokesperson of the NFSA said.

Former Inspector General of Police Baluchistan Saud Gohar, the chief guest on the occasion, appreciated the efforts done by NFSA and the participants who came from across Pakistan to attend this training. He said, “Forensic Science is an imperative instrument in solving crimes for all law enforcement agencies.

The programme host, National Police Bureau Director General Iqbal Mehmood stated interactions and participatory sessions are surely going to drive more possibilities, prudence and knowledge. The programme was also honoured by former director general FIA Mohib Asad, Senior Law Enforcement Advisor ICITAP Daniel A. Miller, Ms Kimberly Riff, Liaison Officer Australian Federal Police, Mr Phillip Hunter.

Aided by Ms Kainat Fatima, Scientific Officers, Dr Muhammad Saad Hayat and Zumurad Usman Bhutta, of NFSA’s Forensic Questioned Documents Section deliberated on several topics of Questioned Documents, including ‘Hand Writing Analysis’, ‘Signature Analysis’, ‘Printed Documents’ Analysis’, ‘Security Features in Questioned Documents’, ‘Ink Comparison’, ‘Basic Light Sources’, and ‘Substrates and Writing Instruments’.

On hand training on ‘VSC-6000/HS’, ‘ESDA-2’, ‘Comparison Charts’, and ‘Practical Exercises’ on Hand Writing Analysis and Signature Analysis were also provided to all the participants beside discourse on the importance of case processing and legal value of evidence. Personnel from different law enforcement agencies, i.e. FIA, NAB, Gilgit-Baltistan Police, and other Pakistan Security Services took part in this training.
