Unscheduled loadshedding playing with nerves of Pindiites

The long hours of unscheduled loadshedding is playing with the nerves of the people already suffering from scorching heat wave. 

The unscheduled loadshedding is increasing day-by-day in different localities of city and cantonment, particularly here at Adiala Road, Defence Road, Caltex Road, Rawat, Pirwadhai, Misriyal, Bakramandi, Sher Zaman Colony, Gulistan Colony and Committee Chowk.

The residents of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are in grip of hot weather facing 42degree Celsius temperature on Saturday.

The residents of Defence Road, Usama Street, Munawar Colony, Saleha Street, Dhok Juma and Al-Mumtaz Colony were without light from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday. For a couple of days, the affected areas are facing loadshedding from 6:00am to 7:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 noon, 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., 7:50 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. 2:00 a.m. to 3:00.a m.

Some two days back, the residents of affected areas faced power shutdown from 6:35 a.m. to 7:40 a.m., light appeared at 7:40 a.m. but for some time and again disappeared from 8:05 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. The electricity went off again at 10:50 a.m. till 12:15 noon. It returned at 12:15 noon but disappeared at 12:44 p.m. The electricity again went off at 2:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. and once again went off from 3:35 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

The helpless residents are trying to know the real picture as why are they facing unscheduled loadshedding day and night in the name of major fault in main supply lines or forced loadshedding in this regard.

On the other hand, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) in its statement claimed that teh department as helpless in forced loadshedding issue.

Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) Executive Engineer (XEN) (Rawalpindi) Muhammad Kashif Shah have admitted that consumers of different areas were facing forced loadshedding. He told ‘The News’ that sometime feeder trips when load increases. “We are trying to provide electricity to public for maximum time but we cannot do anything against forced loadshedding,” he claimed.

Water situation is also worst in affected localities where tanker mafia looting public both hands. The tanker mafia is selling a tanker at Rs900 to Rs1,000.

The residents are facing miserable situation in summer season due to unscheduled and forced loadshedding in day and night times.

The angry residents of affected areas including Adiala Road, Defense Road, Caltex Road, Sher Zaman Colony, Dehri, Tahli Morri, Mumtaz Colony, Dhoke Juma, Mubarak Lane, Jarahi, Munawar Colony, Askari 7, Askari 14 and several other localities strongly protested against Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco). They have appealed to prime minister and minister for water and power for taking an immediate action against this situation.

Talking to ‘The News,’ residents of affected areas said that unscheduled and prolonged power outages have made life of a common man miserable. We are paying electricity bills every month but are not getting electricity in peak summer season, they denounced.
