UET ToRs to boost industrial linkage

UET Business and Advisory Council formulated terms of references (ToRs) to facilitate and strengthen the industrial linkage for better internship and job placement of UET students, provide the guidelines for programmes to encourage the entrepreneurship and commercialisation and feedback on various programmes to strengthen outcome based education system.

The meeting of University of Engineering and Technology Lahore Business and Advisory Council was held at conference room in campus. The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the body Vice Chancellor UET Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid. In the meeting the VC said need and expectations are the key features to build strong and fruitful relations among academic practitioners and industry.

In this regards this sort of initiative will definitely develop the productive live to get the goals of Outcome Based Education System, he said. 

He said UET seeks the collaboration, coordination and cooperation of industry. In this regards university is ready to provide all sorts of facilities to make better economy of Pakistan with the help of production units, he said and added the courses related to entrepreneurship and project management will be introduced in all engineering programmes.

The members of the council highlighted to revise the curricula as per needs of industry and projects may be given to students for solution and to bring all the efforts into main streamline. In this connection the opinions expertise and inputs of experts, business tycoons and success stories of different business may be incorporated to meet of demands of market.

They focused to develop interdisciplinary approach to face the complicated issues of diverse industry for fulfilling the requirements of all segments of related area and new areas must be explored in result of the proper activation of Research and Development departments for strengthening the concept of entrepreneurship and commercialisation.
