SUKKUR: Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Karachi, Justice Syed Sajjad Ali Shah, while addressing at a ceremony of the inauguration of IT Centre at District and Sessions Court, Umarkot, said there is still the issue of shortage of the Judges in the lower courts as well as in High Courts. He said there was huge burden of cases and mentioned that 140,000 cases were being tried in the courts. He said 300 judges have been appointed and 50 civil judges were too promoted to meet the challenge of disposing off the cases to ensure justice to the litigants.
He said in the next years, Taluka-levels courts will be established to ensure justice to the people at their doorsteps. He said with the postings of the newly-appointed judges, the work load will be reduced.
Justice Azhar Rizvi, Justice Salahuddin Panhwar, Justice Aziz-ur-Rahman and Sessions Judge Umar Kot Syed Nasir Shah and the DBA office-bearers, members and others attended the ceremony.
Earlier, the CJ SHC, Justice Syed Sajjad Ali Shah addressed te Khipro Bar Association in Sanghar. He said there is potential of talent in the candidates of the far-flung areas, belonging to poor families. He said in the fresh positions of the Judicial Magistrate, almost all the candidates from those areas had qualified. He said they will prove the best for judiciary.
He said the Judiciary was focusing upon the talented young advocates. He said giving a mini Complex of Judiciary to Khipro, he will hold consultative meeting with his colleagues, besides this transferring of powers to Khipro Court from Sanghar for pre-arrest bail would also be discussed.
Mir Hasan Chanihyo, Taluka Bar Association Khirpro, presented the problems and issues of the Bar. Justice Saeeduddin Nasir, Justice Ghulam Qadir Leghari,Justice Saqib Husain Bhatti, Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar, District and Sessions Judge Sanghar, Mir Safdar Hussain Talpur and other attended the ceremoby.
