SUKKUR: A Senior Superintendent of Police, Javeed Sonharo Jiskani, who had been recently made an OSD, is now reportedly being transferred to another province.
The IGP of Sindh, through a letter to the federal government, said that the services of Javeed Sonharo Jiskani, an officer of the Police Service of Pakistan presently awaiting posting in Sindh CPO, are no more required for Sindh province, and it is requested that the services of Jiskani may be transferred from the government of Sindh.
However, the letter didn’t mention any reason as to why transfer of Javeed Sonharo Jiskani from Sindh to the government of Pakistan was being sought. This correspondent made several attempts to contact the IGP of Sindh by telephone to get his version over the matter but the official was not accessible.
Sources said that Javeed Sonharo Jiskani, who is known for having restored the writ of the police during his postings in Shikarpur, Khairpur and Karachi, a few days ago refused to help a brother of the Home Minister allegedly involved in China cutting in Karachi East and conveyed a message that being the SSP of Karachi East, he would not allow anyone to illegally occupy plots.
According to sources, Sindh government instead of encouraging him and rewarding him for his courage, made him an OSD and later sought his transfer from the province. Some members of the civil society, including Perwaiz Ahmed Ghumro and Syed Zulfiqar Shah Bukhari, urged the IGP of Sindh to retain Javeed Sonharo Jiskani in Sindh. They said that the decision to make Javeed Sonharo Jiskani an OSD was a biased decision.
