Govt not serious about talks on ToRs, says Shujaat

PML-Q president and former prime minister Ch Shujaat Hussain and senior central leader and former deputy prime minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi along with a delegation called on JI ameer Senator Sirajul Haq at Mansoora on Monday and offered Fateha for JI Bangladesh ameer Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami and other martyrs. 

The PML-Q delegation included Senator Kamil Ali Agha, MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema and former MNA Mian Muhammad Munir whereas JI leaders Liaquat Baloch, Farid Piracha, Amirul Azeem, Zikrullah Mujahid, Muhammad Asghar and Qaiser Sharif were present. 

Talking to the media afterwards, Ch Shujaat Hussain said oppression of Bangladesh government against the lovers of Pakistan is condemnable, saying there is no doubt that Motiur Rahman was convicted for his love for Pakistan. He said he greatly regrets apathy of rulers of Pakistan who have not put forth their stance openly in this regard so far. 

About Panama Leaks, Ch Shujaat Hussain said PML-N government is not serious about talks on Term of References (ToRs), adding: “Our relations with JI are not of today but date back to period of his father Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed and we want to carry this old relationship further onward”.  Responding to questions from the media Ch Pervaiz Elahi said: “We had formulated ToRs without wasting time, the govt has not yet finalised its members of the committee to formulate joint ToRs, opposition parties will adopt their future strategy keeping in view thinking and attitude of the government”.  About questions regarding going to the Supreme Court against the prime minister, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said the opposition parties will take a decision in this regard only after holding legal consultations. Expressing gratitude to Ch Shujaat Hussain and Ch Pervaiz Elahi on their arrival at Mansoora, Sirajul Haq said: “We have also exchanged views about national problems and issues, PML-Q and JI have similar point of view over many matters, we have been encouraged with the arrival of Ch Shujaat Hussain.
