Islamabad: For the first time in the history of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), exam schedules have been sent to the students through text messages on their mobile phone numbers.
So far, 400,000 students have been communicated about the ongoing Autumn 2015 Examinations through SMS (text messages), it was stated by the controller examination here on Tuesday.
Following the directives of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, the university has converted its examination system to automation to bring about qualitative improvement in the examination process.
“We are using latest technologist to provide important and instant information to the students. The students were being informed about commencement of their exam w.e.f. May 2016 about Metric, FA and BA and issuance of admitted card as well.
The Examinations Department is continuously working to provide better facilities to the students to resolve their issues relating to examination, he added.
It was also decided that the results, tutors’ addresses and the workshops’ intimidation letters will also be sent through email to all students of the university for quick communication.
