Three terrorists killed in Haripur encounter

PESHAWAR: Three terrorists were killed and an official of law enforcement agency was martyred during an encounter in Haripur on Wednesday, police said.The police and officials of law enforcement agencies raided on a house in village Pind Ghakhara of Khanpur tehsil following secret information about the presence of terrorists there. The outlaws started indiscriminate firing at the law enforcement agencies personnel that was retaliated. As a result of the encounter, three alleged terrorists including a woman were killed and an official of law enforcement agency was martyred and another wounded.The killed outlaws identified were Javed Ahmed Javed and Naheed Akhtar while the martyred official of law enforcement agencies were identified as Sarfaraz and injured policeman as Farhan Shah. Police have cordoned off the area and started an investigation.

 

Urs of Kaka Sahib concludes

NOWSHERA: The 374th Urs of Syed Kasteer Gul, known as Kaka Sahib, concluded at the Darbar Masjid in Ziarat Kaka Sahib on Wednesday. Devotees and followers of Kaka Sahib participated in the Urs, which continued for seven day. Earthen lamps were lighted in and around the shrine to pay homage to the saint.

Patron-in-chief of the Kakakhel tribe Mian Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel, Pakistan People’s Party leader Tariq Khattak and leaders of the Kakakhel tribe attended the concluding ceremony of the Urs. They hoisted the flag of the shrine and changed the traditional shawl on the shrine of the saint.

The speakers said that saints had spread the message of Islam in subcontinent. They said that devotees had been visiting his shrine for the last 374 years to pay respect due to his love for humanity and fear of Allah.

 

Body found in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: The body of a man was found while a woman committed suicide in the district on Wednesday, official sources said. They said after being informed by the locals, the police reached Cherat Road and recovered the body of a man. The body was shifted to the Khyber Medical University in Peshawar for autopsy.  Meanwhile, Nizakat Bibi allegedly ended her life by taking poisonous pills over domestic issue in Mashk Ali Muhammad.

 

FIA submits challan of Imran Farooq murder

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency on Wednesday submitted an interim challan in the Anti Terrorism Court related to Imran Farooq murder case. It is the seventh time when the FIA presented an interim challan along with death certificate and other important documents. The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Kausar Abbasi Zaidi and the security officials directly pointed out suspect Mohsin Ali as the murderer and Moazzam Ali and Khalid Shamim as facilitators.An official Shahzad Zafar, conducting an investigation into the case, said Mohsin and Kashif Kamran allegedly stabbed Imran Farooq to death. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till May 12.
