ISLAMABAD: Before the Monday meeting, a few leaders  of  some opposition parties had made up their mind following opposition leaders contacts in recent days that Imran Khan may take benefit of the present situation and movement.

According to sources, during the sideline discussions on the occasion of the Monday meeting, a few leaders of some opposition parties expressed the fear that in the present situation, Imran Khan and his PTI would get the benefit of PM Nawaz Sharif’s resignation.

The sources said these leaders were of the view that the PPP at present is very weak and unpopular among the masses because of the allegations of corruption during its five-year tenure and bad governance during 2.5 years government in Sindh. They said the PPP is led by Bilawal Bhutto, who is inexperienced and a newcomer in politics and so far could not impress the people by his performance.

Although, PTI is not in a position as it was in the days of Dharna and its capability to gather people has witnessed a decline, it is in a better position as compared to other parties.

The concerned parties are also careful in finalising the ToRs. Imran’s ties in some circles that helped him move forward and his too much insistence on Nawaz Sharif’s resignation have also contributed to doubts of the concerned parties, which think the game may slip away from their hands.
