Demands forensic audit of Nawaz’s wealth
LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan has asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to provide all details of his family’s assets in and outside the country, in the assembly and finalise the terms of reference (ToRs) for formation of the investigation commission in consultation with the opposition parties.
Talking to the media at the Lahore High Court on Friday, he said: “The PM must tell the nation how billions of dollars were shifted abroad.” He said a new law should be enacted for finalising the ToRs in the matter.
He said Panama leaks had blamed the PML-N leadership for corruption, dishonesty and money laundering.
He said the son of prime minister had confessed he was running his business abroad. He said the issue of Panama leaks must be investigated by the international audit experts. He demanded the government conduct forensic audit of PM wealth in context of Panama leaks.
“The PM should have told the parliament truth but he has started addressing rallies,” said Ch Aitzaz. He said how a man who used to pay Rs470 tax became so rich that he had amassed foreign assets. Aitzaz alleged that Nawaz Sharif evaded taxes in 1994 and 1996.
