One of Pakistan’s most successful exports to Bollywood, singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar recently wrapped up shooting in Goa for his upcoming Bollywood flick, tentatively titled Walk And Talk (starring Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kunal Kapoor, etc.). The actor, who seamlessly travels from Pakistan to India for work, believes that cross-border exchanges allow artists to explore and diversify.

In a recent interview with a leading daily in India, Zafar expressed, “I feel that just like Indian films release in Pakistan, Pakistani movies should also release in India. I am sure people here will like them.”

Zafar is also quite optimistic about the future of Pakistani cinema. Commenting on films that are being made in Pakistan presently, he noted, “Over the past few years, many movies have been made in Pakistan and with growing competition, the quality is bound to improve. I have met many talented directors and writers with some great ideas, and I want to work with them.”

Though Zafar is optimistic about Pakistani cinema and feels it will become “more systematic” in the years ahead, he also admitted that Bollywood has an edge. “India has an edge when it comes to the infrastructure, because this industry has been growing for decades,” said Zafar.
