The 1st Femina ME Women Awards aim to honour women, from various fields, for their outstanding contribution and will be attended by our very own Mahira Khan.
Dubai: Women have just as much been at the forefront of any progressive society as men and recognizing them time and again at multiple platforms is a sign of celebrating diversity and inclusiveness. These days, various campaigns and platforms have made a conscious effort to acknowledge women and their contribution to their homes, society and the country at large. In Pakistan, the Pond’s Miracle Journey is one such example.
In India, for over 50 years now, Femina has been capturing the essence of the modern woman, and how she has evolved over the course of time. India’s first and the largest women’s English magazine has long been the definitive life and style guide for progressive women.
Now to celebrate the successful completion of their Middle Eastern wing, Femina ME Women Awards 2016 will go live tonight in Dubai. The event will feature a host of great women personalities including leading Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. The Humsafar star will be among the special guests of the night.
This, however, isn’t the first time that notable Pakistani women have been honoured in the region. Last year, Asma Nabeel, the creative head of Crew Motion Pictures, who has multiple successful ad-campaigns to her credit, was felicitated with the Femina Unstoppable Woman Award for her contribution to Arts and Entertainment. The head honcho of Hum TV, Sultana Siddiqui and journalist and activist Sidra Iqbal have also been recognized by the GR8 Women Awards, held in the Gulf.
The idea behind Femina ME Women Awards is to recognize and felicitate women who are unstoppable, outstanding and have made a positive difference in their field of expertise like arts, education, business, social activism, sports, technology and many more.
