ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz says China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a national project and it would benefit all the provinces.
Addressing a seminar here on Friday, Sartaj Aziz said CPEC mega project could eliminate poverty and provide employment opportunities particularly in remote areas of the country.
Sartaj He said that political parties should not make the CPEC controversial for gaining political mileage. He said that security of the Chinese workers is top priority of the government.
He said CPEC will also help overcome the energy crisis, increasing power generation capacity and fulfilling the electricity needs of the country.
The Adviser said foolproof security for engineers working on the economic corridor project will be ensured and a special security division has been created for this purpose.
He said the project will be a game changer for the entire region.
“Government is determined to eliminate menace of terrorism and ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb is yielding positive results.”
The advisor said 10,000 megawatt electricity would be added to the national grid after completion of the power projects under CPEC.
