QUETTA: The accountability court granted NAB a 14-day remand for former Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani for the fifth time and former Khaliqabad Municipal Committee's accountant for the fourth time, on Tuesday.
NAB presented Former Balochistan Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani and accountant Nadeem Iqbal at the accountability court on Tuesday.
During the proceedings of the case, NAB authorities requested the court for an extended remand for both suspects to which the court assented. The court granted NAB for the fifth time, the custody of Mushtaq Raisani for a 14-day remand while Nadeem Iqbal was also handed over to NAB on a 14-day remand for the fourth time.
NAB had arrested Mushtaq Raisani from his home on May 6 where the bureau made its biggest recovery in history. More than Rs 730 million had been recovered from his house in local and foreign currency.
A few important arrests have been made in the Mushtaq Raisani corruption case and according to NAB officials, progress is being made in the case. NAB sources also confirmed that a few more suspects were likely to be arrested in connection with the case.
Mushtaq Raisani was presented before the courts under strict vigilance.
