ISLAMABAD: Spokesperson for the Interior Ministry denied on Sunday that a meeting held recently between army chief General Raheel Sharif, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar was not unusual.
According to details, the spokesperson said that speculations regarding the meeting between Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Chaudhry Nisar and General Raheel Sharif.
The spokesperson also said that the meeting that took place between the three was normal and as per schedule. According to the spokesperson, the meeting was a usual one and was held at the Army House at 11 am.
Topics that came under discussion in the meeting were the Balochistan drone strike which killed Mullah Akhtar Mansour and the National Action Plan, according to the Interior Ministry. The Interior Minister, Chief of Army Staff and Chief Minister Punjab also discussed the overall security situation of the country.
The meeting was neither secret nor unusual, said the Interior Ministry spokesperson.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently in London where he will undergo an open heart surgery on Monday. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also reportedly left for London where PM Nawaz is currently undergoing treatment.
