KARACHI: Police killed at least four Lyari gang-war suspects in a shootout in Dalmia area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal early on Monday.
Police said, on the information about presence of gangsters, search operation was launched in Dalmia where the suspects opened fire on police.
In retaliatory fire, four suspects were injured who died before being shifted to hospital.
Police recovered a Kalashnikov rifle, repeater gun, four rifle grenades, two hand grenades, two pistols, and a cache of bullets from the possession of the suspects.
In a separate targeted operation in Gulshan-i-Maymar, law enforcers arrested a suspect belonging to the militant wing of a political party. Police caught the suspect, identified as Asif, over information provided by an under-custody suspect, sources said.
