Eight die, 6 hurt in Karachi firing incidents

 KARACHI: At least eight people were killed and seven others including a police ASI injured in firing incidents in various areas of Karachi, raising the overall three-day death toll to 26, Geo News reported Wednesday.

According to police sources, Karachi firing incidents killed at least eight people since last nightfall.

The latest mishap occurred in Landhi locality of Awami Colony, where unidentified attackers gunned down a 40-year-old man.

A 24-year man Gul Muhammed was shot down on reported personal enmity in Metroville Site area.

A 30-year-old man identified as Sakhi Dad was shot dead near Meteorological Department in Gulistan-e-Johr.

Another man was killed and two others were injured in firing incident in Koranti Area of Zaman Town by unidentified armed men. The deceased has been identified as 24-year Akbar Khan and injured are Irfan, 22 and Shahbaz, 25.

A 32-year Din Muhammed was killed in Korangi Town. Other three people lost their lives in firing incidents near Cantt Station, in Korangi-4 and Rerhi Goth. The deceased were identified as Anwar Khan 33, Nazar Muhammed 30 and Ahmed Amin 28.

A police officer suffered wounds when two bike riders in Sohrab Goath area opened fire on police party as they were beckoned to stop by police.

At least two men were injured when two factions entered exchange of fire in New Karachi area of Lasi Goth; the injured have been identified as 45-year Muhammed Omar and 25-year Tanvir.
