| Pakistan, Oman mull cooperation in agri trade |

KARACHI: Pakistan and Oman discussed possibilities to build partnership in the agriculture commodities and halal food market.
A 16-member trade delegation organised by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) led by Shamsul Islam Khan, who is currently visiting Oman, met Khalil bin Abdullah Al Khonji, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), on Tuesday, a delegate informed The News through an e-mail.
Pakistani delegates are representing various fields including rice, agricultural commodities, textile, furniture, surgical goods, leather goods, safety products, sport goods, confectionary and fresh fruits. The Pakistani delegation invited the Omani businessmen to visit and invest in Pakistan and benefit from available opportunities and facilities.
Khonji underlined the need for enhancing economic relations between businessmen of the two sides.
He stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to promote the available investment opportunities in Oman and Pakistan and establish investment and economic partnerships through the Pak-Oman Joint Business Council, in addition to taking part in exhibitions organised in both countries.
The meeting was also attended by Sohail Amin, Pakistani ambassador to Oman, businesspeople and representatives of the private sector in Oman.
