 Governor, CM urge masses to promote unity

PESHAWAR: NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani and NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti Friday urged the people to promote unity and brotherhood to defeat the menace of terrorism.

In his message on the occasion of Eidul Azha, the governor said: “We as a nation, are successfully meeting the challenges, facing us and we can only surmount them if we follow Allah’s will in true spirit in our individual as well as collectives lives and above all never hesitate to offer any sacrifice for security, solidarity and unity of our beloved country.”

Sacrificing animals on Eidul Azha, he said, symbolizes the believers’ submission to the will of Allah Almighty and destiny as ordained by Allah.

“The sacrifice demonstrates the firmness of the true faith in the message of Allah Almighty and the festivity symbolises the brotherhood of all believers.”

One such example, he said, had been set by our great people in the recent past, when they had opened their doors for millions of internally dislocated persons, especially of Malakand Division in spite of their meager means.

“Our National history is replete with many such examples of sacrifice and care for humanity.”

Chief Minister Ameer Haidar Hoti, in his message, said that the revered occasion of Eidul Azha taught us the lesson of tolerance, sacrifice, Islamic brethren and total submission to Almighty Allah. “We should also not to forget the heirs of shuhadas whose nears and dears one fade away in coward, inhumane and brutal acts of terrorism.

The chief minister said that promoting brotherhood, unity and mutual understanding were compulsory for distinguishing and restricting this fire of terrorism and militancy from further expansion, which was smoldering the country particularly the land of the Pakhtuns.

He stressed on the people to get untied for the elimination of terrorism and establishment of peace setting political affiliations, prejudices, hatred and personal differences to aside.

He said that the government had preferred the establishment of peace to developmental planning and welfare of the people, because development is meaningless without peace and stability.

The chief minister expressed solidarity and heartfelt sympathies with terrorism affected families of Peshawar and other parts of the province and reiterated the resolve of the government that enemies to the religion, country and people will not be pardon.

He appealed all the Muslim brothers, sisters, elders, overseas Pakistanis and particularly those performing Hajj to arrange for specials prayers for survival of the country and rehabilitation of peace and stability.
