PESHAWAR: Afghan refugees living in and around the provincial capital and some tribesmen of various agencies celebrated Eidul Azha on Friday while the festival would be celebrated today in rest of the province.
The refugees in Jalozai, Katcha Garhi, Kababian and Azakhel refugee camps and in some urban neighbourhoods such as Hayatabad Town, Danishabad, Afghan Colony, Arbab Road, Jehangirabad, Tajabad, Shaheen Town and Warsak Road offered Eid prayers on Friday.
Surprisingly, though the Afghan refugees have been living in Pakistan since decades, they observe their religious festivities with their home country, Afghanistan, where Eidul Azha was celebrated on Friday.

In most parts of Mohmand Agency, Eid was celebrated on Friday.
The 14-member committee of local ulema, with a 12-2 majority, decided to observe Eid with Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan.
People of Safi, Khwezai, Baizai, Haleemzai and Anbar tehsils offered Eid prayers and sacrificed animals.
Eidul Azha was also
celebrated in Bar Qambarkhel area of Khyber Agency on Friday.
A report from Bajaur said that Eid was celebrated in some parts of the agency. These areas included Bran, Salarzai, Nawagai areas of Momoond tehsil.
However, in most parts of the NWFP, Eidul Azha would be celebrated today (Saturday).
The unofficial Ruet-Hilal Committee of Qasim Ali Khan Masjid and Zonal Ruet Committee had earlier announced that Eidul Azha would be celebrated on November 28.
