 Citizens lose millions to robbers

Dacoits deprived dozens of citizens of valuables worth lakhs of rupees in the city on Friday.

Dacoits looted valuables worth Rs 600000 from the house of one Rana Jameel in Sattukatla, valuables worth Rs 500000 from the house of one Shahid Hassan in Lytton Road, valuables worth Rs 300000 from the house of one Aslam in Manawan, valuables worth Rs 300000 from one Ghoas Hassan and his family in Shadbagh, valuables worth Rs 200000 from the house of one Ashraf in South Cantt, valuables worth Rs 1,50,000 from the house of one Sadaq in Kahna, Rs 70,000 in cash from one Yaseen in Kahna, Rs 65,000 and a cell phone from one Naveed in Kahna, valuables worth Rs 200000 from one Tabassum and his family in Gulshan Iqbal, Rs 50,000 and a cell phone from Bashir in Islampura, Rs 25,000 and a cell phone from Tariq in Islampura, Rs 25,000 and a cell phone from Nazakat in Wahdat Colony, Rs 10,000 and a cell phone from Jehangir Ahmad in Old Anarkali, Rs 80,000 and a cell phone from Haroon in Iqbal Town, Rs 30,000 and a cell phone from Shahid in Shalimar, Rs 30,000 and a cell phone from Azhar in Mughalpura, Rs 25,000 and a cell phone from Zahid in Shafiqabad and Rs 35,000 and a cell phone from Javed in Shahdara.

Bikes were lifted from Islampura, Kot Lakhpat and Kahna while cars were lifted from Defence and Lytton Road.

Three killed in accidents: A 60-year-old man lost his life in a road accident in Kahna area on Friday.

Police said that Mohammad Ali of Batapur and his wife Nazeeran Bibi were on a bike when a speeding tractor ran over them near Halloki and both sustained serious injuries. They were taken to a local hospital where Mohammad Ali yielded to his hurts.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man was killed by a speeding wagon in Nawankot area on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Shahid. Another unidentified man was killed by a recklessly driven car near Defence Morr Kahna. A 40-year-old man Abdul Razzaq expired in a local hospital, two days after he had got injuries in a road accident.

Accidental death: A 22-year-old youth accidentally shot himself to death in Kahna area on Friday. Police said that Adnan of Kahna was cleaning his pistol which accidentally went off, as a result of which he sustained a fatal bullet wound. He was rushed to a local hospital where he expired.
