They were spotted by a fishing vessel which alerted authorities in Mayotte, which lies between northern Madagascar and northern Mozambique off the east coast of Africa.

Police say they’re looking for a 35-year-old cousin of the 6-year-old victim. It wasn’t immediately clear what may have led to the shootings. Authorities say a fifth victim is being treated at a hospital.
